Electrical

The platform’s electrical system is the spark of life that has been enhanced for both the vehicle dependent systems, accessories as well as the habitation functions.

Vehicle Electrical

The platform’s electrical system consists of the start battery and an accessories battery. The start battery is sacrosanct and is untouched by any add-on accessories to ensure that the engine starts no matter what the situation.

There is also an additional accessory battery that drives the add-on electrical systems such as  the various lights, winch and air compressor. An automatic relay with a manual dash switch that charges the accessory battery only when the start battery is at full charge.

House Electrical

This is perhaps one of the most advanced capabilities of the Arctic-Fox. The house electrical system feeds the habitation function with a massive 200 Amp Hour LiFePO4 Lithium Ion battery that provides AC and DC that drives the fridge, camp lights, sleeping quarters.

The platform offers multiple ways to run and charge the habitation electrical system. These include:

ArcticFox has many simple components and advanced technologies that depend on ample supply of clean power. From the 12,000 pound winch to the high power radio that communicates over 160Km (100 miles) to the built in network attached storage, every aspect of the platform is dependent on power.

ArcticFox sports advanced panels, switches, circuit breakers and fuses to give you granular controls over the entire electrical infrastructure. The electrical controls and panels provide the visibility required to keep track of consumption. The switches allow only the resources you need to be powered to ensure the power you need is available when you need it.

Built-in Jump Start

ArcticFox comes with a super capacitor jump start device in its tool kit. But, you will only ever need to use it to help jumpsart other stranded motorists. If you ever need a jump, you can flip just a single switch to jump your Start battery from the dedicated Accessory battery.

When you start ArcticFox, the Accessory and Start batteries are normally disconnected. When your Start battery reaches full operating voltage, an automatic switch triggers charge for the Accessory battery.

Should you need it, just put the switch in the ON postion and your Accessory battery will jump your Start battery. The alternator will take care of bringing the Start battery to full charge.
